IPL team Mumbai Indians have replaced West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor with the injured Sri Lankan player Lasith Malinga for this season of IPL. This is the second replacement in the Mumbai Indians team squad. The first one was New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill had replaced with West Indies batsman Lendl Simmons.
Jerome Taylor will be available for selection for Mumbai Indians subject to the completion of contractual paperwork formalities. Taylor has played for the Kings XI Punjab and Pune Warriors India.
Malinga, who is the fast bowler of the IPL team Mumbai Indians, was ruled out after the medical team found him unfit because of a recurring knee injury. He has played 98 matches in IPL since joining the team Mumbai Indians in 2009. But unfortunately, he also missed a large chunk of ICC World T20. Malinga was also expected to miss Sri Lanka’s upcoming tour of England, as well as the Caribbean Premier League.
"Mumbai Indians have called up West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor to replace the injured Sri Lankan paceman Lasith Malinga for the remainder of the VIVO IPL 2016," the franchise said in a statement.
